THE STORY BEHIND

MY BIPOLAR STRUGGLE & VICTORY

My name is Tashu Gudokin, I’m 60 and I have genetic Bipolar Disorder. I grew up in a family where mood swings and mental health sufferings were common. My Bipolar Disorder was triggered and diagnosed in early 1990s after untimely death of my father. We were emotionally dependent upon each other.

After more than a decade of struggle, a new regimen of medication worked on me in 2016. With a regained mental clarity and positiveness; I spent the next 2 months in analysing my life, lost years, all my major past decisions and mistakes.

This deep self-analysis resulted in a total paradigm shift in my general perspective and how I looked at my Bipolar Disorder.

I wrote a totally new Rule Book for myself that had these primary & governing principles:

  1. Bipolar Disorder is part of my personality and it makes me different from others.
  2. It gives me unique strengths and some weaknesses
  3. I must focus on leveraging my bipolar strengths to benefit self and the society

Fully empowered by the new rule book, I sat down to draw a new Life Roadmap for myself for the next 5 years and steered both my personal & professional life into a new and more fulfilling direction. I decided to re-invent myself – both in my personal and professional lives.

To psychologically enforce the new rule book, I declared myself BipolarPowered, emphasizing on the unique strengths it gives me

Since then, I never looked back and kept on accomplishing my goals set in my Life Roadmap. There indeed have been some ups and downs, but my new perspectives and rules had empowered me to put myself back to the track.

WHY I’VE STARTED BIPOLAR NONPROFIT INITIATIVE

Setting up a mental health Nonprofit to help Bipolar professionals was one of the major goals of my new Life Roadmap that I drew in 2016. Though it took almost 7 years to accomplish goal, a bit longer than planned, but I’m really thrilled and proud to finally reach there.

My own long struggle with Bipolar Disorder, my victory over it, and my success in restarting and re-inventing both my personal & professional lives; made me realise the urgent need of a non-profit, social impact initiative to facilitate a Global Support Ecosystem for creative people with Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar Powered Ltd is result of first-hand experience of my own life re-invention journey and my Bipolar Rule Book that made me accomplish it
